Kilcar singer “Rory Gallagher” gets behind the Donegal Championship Campaign

Kilcar man Rory Gallagher, former front man of "The Revs" now residing in Lanzarote has become an internet sensation with his song for the Donegal team – accompanied by Senegal Jimmy on a beach in Lanzarote.

More than 100,000 people have now watched it on YouTube – making it one of the biggest Donegal hits ever.

And thankfully for Rory it’s also being download on iTunes….and heading for No1 in the charts.

Tonight Rory told us from Lanzarote: “The reaction has been incredible. It is in the Irish iTunes rock chart, it’s looking good for number 1 in the rock charts in a few days!

“That should then help it cross over into the overall irish top 40 ..just in time for the Cork match.. boom!”

It's the first time in 60 years since Donegal have got into the final, in which they have improved beyond

recognition since McGuinness was appointed manager in the autumn of 2010. They've put Ulster titles

back-to-back for the first time in their history, and have adopted a defensive system which very few teams

are capable of breaking down and are arguably the fittest and most driven team in the GAA. Their mission is

to capture Sam and they won't rest until that is accomplished...!

"Up Donegal!"
